Our camera  club was formed by a group of neighborhood residents in Acton, MA who have a common interest in photography. The group is not comprised of professional artists, but participants do enjoy creating something from scratch or capturing a moment in time.  As members, we delight in expressing ourselves in a visual way and aim to have our photographic images tell a story.  Some of us use high-end cameras and edit in Photoshop, but taking a picture with a smart phone and using phone apps to enhance is perfectly fine, too.

At our monthly Zoom meetings, we show recently created photos to the group. Often the photos for the session are all related to predetermined themes representing the diversity of interests of our members. Our photos are not judged. We do not score them. Instead, we offer positive comments and critiques intended to help us make our photos better. Every members' goal is to achieve the club’s ultimate “blue ribbon award” and that reward is simply two words-- “Wall Worthy,” i.e., unanimous consensus from the group that a presented image is exceptional and so good that it should be matted, framed, and hung on a wall for viewers to enjoy. View our photo galleries for examples.

Occasionally we do photo shoots together at some nearby location as a means  to meet and learn techniques from one another.  We try to have a local public showing of our photographs at least once a year, and some of us are willing to sell prints should anyone be interested.

We are a member of the New England Camera Club Council (NECCC).  New members, ranging from beginners to “seasoned” photographers living in our surrounding towns are always welcomed.
